Convertin’ The World Cafe to MP3 (so you don’t have to) ~ v19.0

There I was, on my lunch break, which was actually a dinner break. 7:15 or so. Sitting in my Saturn SW1 with a Panera veggie sandwich in hand and a shrink wrapped album by Ray LaMontagne. I had heard some of his songs hither and thou, but it was when Kathleen Edwards said on her website, that she loved him that I decided to check him out.
So I bought the album and listened to it in the car, while eating the sandwich and watching the sunset. This was one of those perfect moments when everything seemed to be in the right place. The music pouring from my speakers was incredible. The SOUND was reminded me of Harvest-era Neil Young. Besides Ray’s amazing voice and lyrics, it was the drum sounds that floored me. I wanted to listen to the entire album but I had to go back to work. The good news: I was riding high from the music, sandwich and sunset. The rest of my shift would fly by. The evening was stupendous. I even took a picture with my Palm camera.
I hope you find these stripped down versions from 2005 as engaging as I do. Sometimes I convert for others, but this one was all for the Duke.
