Okay, I admit it, Jason doesn’t really sing, per se. But he does rock on the drums. He is an actor who often plays geeks. He is a drummer who often plays geeky rock. Phantom Planet started as a Weezer rip-off band, or at least I think that is their background. Then they hit is big with Fox’s OC. Below is a song sampler of their quasi-unique geek-rock.

his acting is genuine. take the movie CQ, the movie is good on its own but when jasons character comes on, its golden. the same goes for shopgirl, i couldnt stand steve martins acting but jasons performance made the movie. so i agree with you on the geeky actor.
I heard he's given up drumming for Phantom and decided to concentrate on acting. I think its a different guy on the Phantom's most recent album.
okay...first of all, Phanotm Planet had a major following BEFORE The OC even existed. Second, Jason DOES sing...and beatifully. Watch Slackers! At the end, he sings what is known as Ethan's Song...just check youtube.com.
