Inbox Tuesday ~ Gargantuan Post

As International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) breathes down my neck, you can expect more great tunes that haven’t been heard yet to come from bands/artists who have emailed The Duke.

I spent a good portion of Little Duke’s naptime, cleaning out my inbox to bring you a gargantuan (isn’t this a great word?) batch of goodies. First link is to bands’ websites or myspaces; second is the mp3; and underneath is my take/brief description.

Thailand ~ Prime Numbers
Sorta like a drum machine Mates of State

Libbie Schrader ~ Wish You Were The Woman
Think Charlotte Martin and Vienna Tang get married (not that they are lovers or even hay) and adopt and raise a chanteuse with a knack for clever lyrics

Randi Russo ~ West Coast Girl
In our duets post, Bruce posted PJ and Thom singing. Randi is the off-spring of that musical meeting

Postscripts ~ Untitled #2
I never know why artists number their untitled pieces as it gives them a title. That being said, this is one nice instrumental.

Podington Bear ~ Trippin At The Party
A dude trying to post and share his own music. A few songs a month. Worth a listen.

Orange Is In ~ Run Towards the Warmth of the Sun
The new Wilco album is called Sky Blue Sky. What else is in blue sky? An Orange sun Is In.

Loch Lomond ~ Bird And A Bear (I Am The Bird)
I just want Craig to know I was planning on posting this song before I read his post about them (and by his reasoning, The Late Greats is worth its salt).

Alexis Blue ~ Dyslexics Of The World... UNTIE!
A British power-pop group that has a sense of humor and a sense of rhythm.

Hit The Hype Machine to listen to more Thailand, Randi Russo, Postscripts, Podington Bear, Orange Is In, Libbie Schrader, Loch Lomond or Alexis Blue.

Others who have emailed The Duke: Christopher Willits & Roger O’Donnell ~ RockDownBaby & Antsy McClain ~ The Big Provider ~ Grayson Capps & Benjy Ferree ~ High, Meek & Mighty and Jay Pea ~ Old School ~ M and M and M ~ Quiet Before The Storm ~ Minnedelpia
