7 from ’07 ~ Popular Bands I Could Care Less About

I’ll be honest with you: I’m posting these popular bands (even though they do nothing for me) because I’m hoping to be popular with The Hype Machine and elbo. The Duke is suffering from low blog-esteem.

The White Stripes ~ Icky Thump

Stars ~ The Night Starts Here

Justice ~ D.A.N.C.E.

Interpol ~ Heinrich Maneuver

The National ~ Fake Empire

Animal Collective ~ Fireworks

Klaxons ~ Golden Skans

More 7 from ‘07s.

Many of these albums are available for your 25 FREE DOWNLOADS from eMusic

Man,I wish I'd thought of this one, totally agree with this list

The correct way to say it is, "I couldn't care less about." Think about it. It's one of the most misused statements in the English language. Just a heads up.

Could it be because when people leave comments you don't aknowledge them?

No, don't have low blog-esteem! I love Late Greats and all the weird (not-always popular) music you post!

Don't fret the low blog-esteem, Sir Duke. The Late Greats is one of the best blogs out there!

Doesn't "I could care less" mean you COULD care less about something but you don't?? "I couldn't care less" is correct, moron.

Screw Hype Machine. They somehow don't list my blog.

Anyway, I really enjoy your blog, and have found loads of new favourite artists through it. I think it was you that flagged the Beauty Shop.

You are totally right about these tracks. I listen to a lot of music blogs but not so much to music like this... which is typically all over the blogs. Exception: White Stripes; I love 'em but don't like the song Icky Thump at all. I conducted a contest whereby my work assistant and I listened to all 7 and picked the best and worst. We agreed that the Klaxons were the only one that wasn't irritating and that Animal Collective was the worst, with Icky Thump giving it a run for its money. I liked The National well enough, too. But we agreed that as a group they were bad, and irritating, and if highly rated (which I think they are) then highly over-rated. (Except, of course, the genius White Stripes on just about every other song.)

Thanks for blogging about this; glad to know someone else feels the same way.

So... I'll just take my Animal Collective and be on my way then. Oh, and I must defend the National while I'm here too. Bryan is the best drummer in the world. Listen to just the drums in a few tracks. Every member of that band has talent and uses it together.
