Random Friday ~ Girls & Their Bands

So The Duchess and I were talking the other day. She has a problem with musicians (of both sexes) who use their name in front of a band’s name. She think it makes the “leader” seem conceded. Like they should either be a solo artist with just their name OR in the band as the band’s name. She said this kind of taints her feelings about the musician. That she has a harder time listening to them. (I hope I explained that properly!?!)
I never really noticed. Nor thought about this. But it did give a random post of girls using their names AND a band name.

My favorite "So & So & the So & Sos" group is Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers.

I first encountered her when I was at work, and a customer called and asked for the cd. I made him repeat the group name several times just for the fun of it (hey when one works in retail hell, one does what one must to stay sane). Anywho, Ms. Smith is awesome, and from what I've read I think you'll like her, if you don't already know her.
should be called "sharon jones and that's why you're here."
