Why The F*ck Is No One In America Blogging About: Jane Vain and the Dark Matter
I’m gonna go on record and say 2008 will be the Year Of Canadian Music. Forget Arcade Fire and Feist in 2007. Apostle of Hustle, Kevin Drew, old news. Next year the indie music coming out of the Great White North will WOW the inter-music-weblog-sphere. You heard it hear first..jpg)
Leading the charge will be Jane Fooks with her band. AKA Jane Vain and the Dark Matter. Their debut album of noir-pop called “Love Is Where The Smoke Is” was recorded in Jane’s basement and will be released on January 22 (the day after my birthday).

2 hullabaloos:
Very good band, and probably a very good album...I wanted to write about these guys and girls back in the summer, but the CD-R they gave me after a show I did with them two songs and no song titles...anyway, yes: total agreement on how good this album will be!
'Ships Bound to Sink' has a strong vibe.
