Guilty Pleasures for Humpday ∞ Dirty Mind

Sara Melson is the daughter of two professors. She grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana. Besides a houseful of books, she was surrounded by records, by the classics: Beatles, Stones, The Band, Neil Young, Bowie, Van Morrison and of course Bob Dylan.

The literate/musical upbringing has graced Sara with a lyrical knack and a musical flair. She has a luscious voice that leans towards pop but her songs are based in folk-rock.

There is also a girl-next-door kind of appeal. Her self-produced album “Dirty Mind” (Nettwork) hits stores next Tuesday, February 26. Add it to your shopping list.
