8 From ’08 ∞ The 8 I Couldn’t Wait For

Way back in February I made this list of albums to look forward to. Now that I have heard them all, I figured a little recap was in order. Speaking of order, I have placed them in order of least disappointing to most.

The Felice Brothers: The Felice Brothers

Plain and simple, the front runner for The Duke’s favorite album of 2008.

The Felice Brothers ∞ Wonderful Life

The Black Keys: Attack & Release

Some might complain about these guys getting a more “produced” sound – but not me. Love it.

Plus, they made this hilarious video for the Strange Times:

Erykah Badu: New Amerykah

I haven’t listened to this album extensively, mostly because so much is going on from the music to the lyrics to the sound effects. It’s an exhausting undertaking to digest the whole thing in one setting. A good kind of exhausted.

Erykah Badu ∞ Honey

The Great Outdoors: Spring EP

I just reviewed this one on Monday.

The Great Outdoors ∞ Spring Flowers

Daniel Lanois: Here Is What Is

At 18 tracks, there is a little too much music here. But still, a nice listen.

Daniel Lanois ∞ Here Is What Is

Sandrine: Dark Fades Into The Light

If you have been reading The Late Greats for a while, you know I love Australians – Sandrine fits that bill.

Sandrine ∞ Let The Love

Kathleen Edwards: Asking For Flowers

The rockers on this album are few and far between. Too many ballads for my tastes.

She did just unleash this awesome video, though.

Kaki King: Dreaming Of Revenge

Oh, Kaki…

Kaki King ∞ 2 O’clock

The Felice Brothers will most likely be #1 on my list, too. :) I also love the Melody Gardot album - thanks for the rec!
