Compare & Contrast ∞ A Murder Of Crows

Back in the extremely early stages of The Duke’s courtship of The Duchess, she was interning at The Cable Natural History Museum. One of the perks of the internship was the board. She lived on Lake Namekagon in a little apartment above a garage in the middle of the woods. It was a wonderful little place to spend the summer.

The only radio station worth listening to back then was called The Baer – or something like that – from Duluth. They used to do these Rock Block Weekends where they would play four songs in a row by one band.

I remember laying in her arms and listening to four songs off of August And Everything After. In August, she would be flying off to Mystic Seaport for a semster at sea. There would be a lot to come after that August.

Flash forward – in a LOST-like fashion – to 2008: The Duke and Duchess are married, with Duke Jr. and another addition on the way, sitting on their futon watching Scrubs.

A Murder of One comes on at the tail end of the episode with Michael J. Fox. Dammit if it didn’t make me a little misty. That whole summer came racing back.

I tracked down some covers of two outta four songs (don’t remember what the other two were). Maybe they’ll conjure up some nice memories for you, too.
