Mix Week ∞ 2004 Was A Good Year For Political Songs

As we approach the home stretch of this historical presidential election, I harken back to the year of the last presidential election. There were a treasure-trove of great political songs that came out that year. This mix focuses on thirteen of them.

1. Antibalas ∞ Big Man

2. Dan Bern ∞ President

3. Greg Brown ∞ I Want My Country Back (live)

4. Northern State ∞ Sire Song

5. Rilo Kiley ∞ It’s A Hit

6. Sarah Harmer ∞ Dandelions In Bullet Holes

7. Ani DiFranco ∞ Animal

8. Beastie Boys ∞ Time To Build

9. Cake ∞ Carbon Monoxide

10. Wilco ∞ The Late Greats (this blogs theme song)

11. Marah ∞ Going Thru The Motions

12. The Roots ∞ Why (What’s Goin’ On)

13. Antibalas ∞ Who Is This America Dem Speak Of Today?

Zipped up for your convenience.

You forgot Shivaree's amazing "2004 (The Year In Review... For Anyone Who Can Bear the Mere Thought)"!

Definitely worth a listen (although it may have been made in 2005, I think it still counts)!

Not sure how to send a copy to you but if you want it, let me know!
