Wayback Wednesdays ∞ Lucinda Williams: LIttle Honey

This is a trip in the Wayback Machine because I meant to post about it back in October when the album came out. Somehow I forgot about the album until my parents came to visit. Mr. Straw (my dad) has always been a Lucinda fan. I asked him to write the review for me. Thanks Dad.

Lucinda has always served her coffee black and under moonless nights. If you catch her on the right day you might get a cup of green tea with a dash of sweetener. Little Honey is that day.
It’s a long, lonely trip Lucinda has been on. Too appreciate where she is now is best done by having ridden along in a pickup just behind her and a little to the right. Inevitably the guitar twang and the gravity of her voice draw you too close and you crash. This album is Lucinda 4-wheeling it out of the ditch and she’s got us in tow.
