Random Friday ∞ Happy May

Today is special for more than one reason:

A) You get to change the calendar
B) Spring has definitely sprung
C) It’s Coconut’s Birthday (of Coconut and The Duke)

Speaking of Coconut and The Duke, our debut album – In The Bamboo Forests Of Pennsylvania – has been mastered.

The artwork is complete (see below).

The tracks have been lined up (see below).

And our website is live: coconutandtheduke.com. You can stream 7 of the 15 tracks at our website - bested viewed in Firefox, Safari or Chrome.

Coconut has this to add:
"Our project is somewhat unique because for the most part it was two friends, sharing songs by phone, e-mail and ftp between PA (Duke) and WI (Coconut). The process was both extremely rewarding and at times, trying. It was not uncommon for us to be on completely different wavelengths. But ultimately, we learned to compromise without compromising each other's sound. As our communication with each other developed, it added a tension we now feel has only made the music stronger.

For the moment, there will be no touring of Coconut and The Duke (only for the moment!) The album will be available on CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon MP3 and eMusic later this month. Being that we LOVE what we do, we are now stronger advocates for buying the music you enjoy. I promise the 8 other tracks are equally as nice as the ones online. Keep an ear out!
