Party Tunes Tuesday & Wayback Wednesdays ∞ Special Monday Edition

I read the Amazon music blog ChordStrike. They recently did a report on the Best 2009 Albums You (Probably) Haven’t Heard, but Should. One of the bands – One For The Team – is a Late Greats favorite.

The one that pulled in deep was The Years. Amazon said, “Assembled by a crew of some premier sidemen, this fluid set of thumping soul is the sort of album that as fun to listen to as it seems like it was to make.” The Duke digs fun music. So I headed over to their website and got the album for free.

It was on repeat all weekend long. It’s Party Tunes because it’s party music. It’s a Wayback track because it sounds retro (but fresh at the same time).

Do yourself a favor and dig in.
